about Clann Associates

CLANN - n. - Middle English, from Scottish Gaelic clann, family, from Old Irish cland, offspring, from Latin planta, plant, sprout.

Clann Associates brings together skills from a number of members of the same family - 'Clann Silverwood'. Head of the clann is Peter Silverwood, and his main contribution to the team is that of experience, having lived the longest. A Chartered Engineer in the electronics field Peter spent 18 years as Managing Director of a PLC in the medical manufacturing sector and has formerly enjoyed Directorships in the oil and gas industry within Sales, Marketing and Engineering.

Having skills in marketing and finance as well as engineering Peter enjoys the challenges presented by smaller owner-managed companies and understands their problems particularly well.

Other members of the clann bring to the team a wide variety of skills, ranging from accountancy, design, manufacturing and production engineering, photography and web, video and graphic design. Having lived fewer years than their respected chieftain they have a close awareness of aesthetic norms and style values of a younger generation. Addtionally, they are all far too good looking to have their mug shots shown here.

Outside interests include playing ice hockey, cricket, golf, running up mountains, skateboarding, photography, bringing up children, cycling (the old boy), youth work, making loud 'rock' music as if he was still a teenager, (him again!) and preaching, to name just a few. In short, we do enjoy life - in all its fullness - and sometimes we wish we didn't have to do all this tacky commercial stuff to pay for life's essentials and little luxuries - but never mind - we do enjoy it really!
